Take in Iguazu Falls
Argentina/Brazil Border
Massive waterfall system in a lush subtropical rainforest.
View on Google MapsWhy It's Epic
Iguazu Falls is loud, wet, and absolutely breathtaking. This isn't just one waterfall - it's 275 individual falls spanning nearly 3 kilometers along the Argentina-Brazil border. The main attraction, Devil's Throat, drops 80 meters with a force you can feel in your chest.
The falls sit in subtropical rainforest, meaning toucans and coatis wander the trails while butterflies land on your shoulders. Both countries have national parks with viewing platforms, and most visitors recommend seeing both sides - Argentina for up-close walkways, Brazil for panoramic views.
First-time visitors often say it makes Niagara look like a kitchen faucet. Eleanor Roosevelt supposedly said "Poor Niagara" when she first saw it.
Pro tip: Do the Argentina side first (it takes a full day), then Brazil the next morning. Bring a waterproof bag for electronics - you will get soaked on the Argentina walkways near Devil's Throat. Boat rides that go under the falls are touristy but incredibly fun.
